  21. Introduction

  23.     As time goes by more and more Mainframe Systems are being down 
  24. sized to run on PC's, but one of the biggest setbacks are file with
  25. Tabs and Spaces. You may want to change your spaces to tabs to save space.
  26. JS-Space will convert X amount of spaces to a tab on a new output file. This
  27. will save you space on your disk.

  29. If you dont tell JS-Space the amount of spaces you want to be one tab,
  30. it will use the default of 4 spaces. this will make each set of 4 spaces to
  31. one tab this will save you 3 bytes in each set.

  35.     JS-Space Ver 5.0 provides the following features:

  37.     1)     Faster then JS-Space (Freeware Ver.).

  39.     3)     No more need for a control file.
  40.  
  41.     4)     No limit on input file size.

  43.     5)     For Huge file a fast and stealth mode.

  47.     The JS-Space program must be provided with control information
  48. to govern its execution. This information is read from the command line.
  49. The format is:

  55.         -i or -I  THE INPUT FILE NAME.
  56.  
  57.         -o or -O  THE OUTPUT FILE NAME.

  59.         -k or -K  TO DELETE INPUT FILE ON EXIT.

  61.         -t or -T  TO BEEP ON EXIT.
  62.  
  63.         -s or -S  TURNS ON FAST AND STEALTH MODE.

  65.         -d or -D  CHANGE THE AMOUNT OF SPACES.

  69. Sample #1:

  71.     JS-Space -I A:\TEST.DAT -O A:\NEW.OUT

  73. This tells the utility to use the file "A:\TEST.DAT" as the input file and
  74. use the file "A:\NEW.OUT" for the output file. The utility will use the
  75. default amount that is set to 4 spaces. So each set of 4 spaces will be
  76. turn into one tab.

  82.     JS-Space -S -i A:\TEST.OUT -o A:\NEW.OUT
  83. This is the same thing as sample #1 but now the utility turns on
  84. fast and stealth mode.  (You have to try it !)

  90.     JS-Space -S -D 2 -i A:\TEST.OUT -o A:\NEW.OUT
  91. This is the same thing as sample #2 but now the utility will change
  92. each set of 2 spaces to a tab.

  98.   I will keep improving the program if I know enough people are
  99.   finding it useful.

  101.   My registration policy is very flexible. The nominal fee are listed
  102.   in the file REGISTER.TXT. If you don't feel you will get your money
  103.   worth of use out of JS-Space, send whatever it is worth to you.
  104.   If you are impoverished and can't afford to pay anything,
  105.   enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope
  106.   and I will send you a registration.

  108.   This is not freeware or public domain. Shareware is simply a means
  109.   of marketing commercial software. You are required to register if
  110.   you intend to use this program after a reasonable trial period.

  112.   When registering, please tell me the version number you have 
  113.   and where you obtained your copy of JS-Space.

  115.   Foreign checks and credit cards are NOT OK. See REGISTER.TXT for details.

  117.   JS-UCase should be registered for the maximum number of copies that
  118.   can be used simultaneously at your site. Site fees for commercial
  119.   users can be negotiated.

  121.   If you register for the full fee, and enclose a Shipping and
  122.   Handling fee of $3 I will send you the latest versions of JS-Space and
  123.   Some Free Demo's.  if you decide to use it after a trial period.

  138.     Hitting Control-C (or Control-Break) will terminate the program
  139.     immediately.

  144.     Permission is hereby given to copy and distribute this program
  145.     as long as no more than $5 is charged. It must be made clear to
  146.     the buyer that this is only a handling charge and not a
  147.     registration fee. You must include all files in their original
  148.     unmodified form when distributing this program. .

  150.     Permission to distribute may be revoked by the Johnathan Mark Smith 
  151.     at any time for any reason.
